Sunday, 20th September 2026, marked the unveiling of Hasiru Farms’ latest managed farmland project Malgoodi, bringing the small-town India of the 70s and 80s to life.
The morning opened with marigolds at the gate and the scent of camphor. The event felt more auspicious with the idol of Lord Ganesha being ushered in.
Children found their way to a magic show and came back convinced it was real. Marbles changed hands the way they must have in the 1970s; traded, argued over, won back. A toy shop pulled the adults in for longer than it pulled their kids.
Near the gate, sat the most eloquent model house with its red sloping roof & beautiful kolam work. Matka cups of bisi bisi coffee kept the conversations going. The event was not just designed for children but for the child in every adult.
The day offered the first glimpse into the world of Malgoodi built like the small Indian town many of us grew up in.
With aarti, dhol and dance, Ganpati Visarjan brought the celebrations to a joyous close.
